Eddie watched the whole scene unfold from his bedroom window. He watched his father turn his back on Brad the first time, and he saw Brad reach into the bed of his truck.

Oh shit.

Michael turned slowly. The fury he felt was now all-encompassing.

“What the fuck did you say about my daughter?”

“She’s a cocktease, Mr. Kent. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you. But what kind of girl will blow a guy, again and again and again, but not put out? Hm? ”

“Go home, Brad. Right now.” One last warning. In a moment of clarity, Michael issued this last piece of advice to him.

“Olive is a slut who won’t open her legs. I mean, what the fuck, right?”

Michael raised the club and closed the distance one last time, already swinging. He was too close by the time he saw the tire iron come out from behind Brad’s back.

Fuck, he baited me.

Brad raised his arm, ready to strike.

The sick crunch and ring of broken glass from the truck caught Brad off guard, but not Michael.
